How billing works
From sign-up to first invoice.
Register
Takes a billing address, an invoice email and a contact person. No card.
Review
New organizations are activated at once or reviewed first, depending on capacity. You get an email when yours is approved.
Add a payment method
Before you launch anything. You enter the card on the payment provider’s hosted page; card details never pass through Origin Cloud.
Pay for what you run
Invoices per billing account and period, with a usage statement that uses the price list’s product keys.

Questions we hear before sign-up.
- Do I need a card to register?
- No. You add a payment method before you launch your first billable resource, on the payment provider’s hosted page.
- Is storage included in the instance price?
- No. Instances boot from Persistent Volume Storage, priced at 0,0700 € per GiB-month on gp1.
- Is outbound traffic charged?
- Yes, at 0,09 € per GB. Inbound traffic and traffic inside a VPC are free.
- Can my bill run away from me?
- Set a monthly spend limit with thresholds and you get an email when spend crosses one. A spend limit only alerts; it doesn’t stop running resources, so size what you run.
- Do prices include VAT?
- No, every amount excludes VAT. Billing addresses must be in an EU member state; outside Germany invoicing is business to business and needs a VAT ID.
- Will these prices change?
- Each price carries the date it is valid from, and the list says when it last changed. This page reads the live list.
- Can I use io1 or st1 volumes?
- Not yet. Both classes are in the price list but not on sale; gp1 is the class you can select.
- Where does my workload run?
- In the eu-central1 region, in European data centers.
