Why we’re building this
Solving the European cloud gap.
Infrastructure as a technical foundation, not a black box: primitives, identifiers and prices you can inspect.
What you actually get
We treat IaaS as the technical foundation it is. We offer:
- The gp1 instance series with published hourly rates
- Durable block volumes on general-purpose SSD, with point-in-time snapshots
- Granular IAM and stable resource identifiers (URNs) on every object
- Platform metrics for every instance, volume and network interface
You get the primitives and the identifiers. What you compose from them is yours.
Bring your own image
We don’t believe in hiding information:
- Import a disk image, such as a qcow2, from an HTTP(S) URL as a volume
- Create your own images and launch instances from them
- The guest environment is documented, down to what cloud-init sets at first boot
The defaults are sensible. When they don’t fit, the internals are documented.
Fits your existing toolchain
Origin Cloud fits into your existing workflows with:
- A CLI and a GraphQL API, both covering every resource type
- JSON output and error codes with a correlation ID, for scripts and CI
- Service accounts for automation instead of personal logins
This is infrastructure that works with your ecosystem, not against it.
